A TEAR IN THE SKY
A tear in the sky, and the light shone through
We were all blinded, though truth was renewed
Clay wrapped the crystal that contained the rays
And hid in plain sight the first ending of days.
Few of us noticed the light from within
Some wanted bread and some wanted their sin
All were compelled to admit or deny
That an unearthly brilliance had dazzled their eyes.
A sign in the dust, and dust was the place
Where the truth was written, and soon erased
Let the first sinner bow the first knee
Let the last saint write the last note of grief.
