SHADOW
A shadow lies on the human race
bound by time and lost in space
the fathers are marching to the grave
the children divide between free and slave.

A mist that fell before the eyes
a cloak of skins for a new disguise
fallen knowledge for fallen minds
twists the perspective to new designs.

When we discarded love and freedom
he travelled the highways incognito
shaping a sign only seekers could see
and writing himself in his own story.

Shine down star, and o'er those sleeping
sing a song, warm winter's keeping
crystal beams from endless heaven
whisper of the goodness given.
